Job Summary

Orangetheory Fitness is a trendsetting franchise fitness organization with close to 500 locations open in the US, Canada and UK and with more than 400 new fitness studios under development across the nation and internationally.

 

Core Responsibilities

The Regional Fitness Manager (RFM) will be responsible for representing the Orangetheory Fitness Corporate team by presenting and facilitating OT FIT Certification training seminars for local Orangetheory Fitness studios within the Northern California Region (SF/Alameda/Dublin/Albany/Emeryville/Berkley and surrounding areas).  The RFM will work under the Director of Fitness to become a facilitator of the Orange 60 workout and facilitate OT FIT Certification. The RFM will also be responsible for facilitating local regional coaching events and evaluations within the Northern California Region (SF/Alameda/Dublin/Albany/Emeryville/Berkley and surrounding areas).

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Teach Orange 60 fitness classes and fitness training workshops in order to educate studio owners on best practices.
  • Practice regular independent, discretionary judgement in order to ensure OTF strict guidelines are being followed
  • Must submit monthly schedule and weekly reports to direct supervisor outlining work hours and activities performed.
  • Perform evaluations of fitness trainers and provide mentoring for improvement as needed.
  • Present 3-5 day OT Fit certification fitness training classes as needed to enforce OTF Guidelines
  • Assess candidate performance throughout training certification to determine if candidate meets strict criteria
  • Present Continuing Education classes as needed.
  • Work with the Corporate fitness team with video training modules as needed.
  • Assist with studio compliance audits as needed.  This includes assisting and auditing entire studio operations in addition to the fitness team evaluations.
  • Assist in local franchise training as needed.
  • Studio Fitness Coaching must be performed outside of the required 40 hours in the role of RFM.

Job Specifications

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-motivated and driven fitness professional
  • Experience in the fitness industry in a leadership role – direct experience in fitness training required
  • Excellent communication and organization skills required
  • Ability to effectively give training presentations to small groups, with previous experience in training/mentoring
  • Knowledge of computer skills, MS office and basic software programs
  • Compliance with the OTF Brand
  • Success at the Head Trainer position in a studio is preferred
  • Able to work flexible schedules as needed, including weekends and holidays

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of the OT Fit Certification
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a leader in the fitness industry
  • Minimum of one year as an OTF Fitness Coach
  • Current nationally accredited personal trainer or primary group exercise certification
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Exercise Science related field is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates both in a fitness studio environment and in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.   This role also routinely uses studio fitness equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

 

This role requires employee to be on their feet coaching and instructing franchisees for the entirety of the training. In the weight room, employee must be able to demonstrate all exercises for franchisees which can involve bosu balls, medicine balls, dumbbells, TRX bands, ab dollies or other fitness equipment.

    This is a full-time position which may include weekends and holidays.
  • TRAVEL
    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected.
